Our clients are looking for a Project Engineer to join an existing civil engineering team which provides highway and drainage infrastructure support for projects primarily within the commercial, industrial, retail, education and residential sectors.The successful project engineer will be responsible, under the leadership of an Associate Director, for the internal day-to-day management of small to medium scale projects and the engineering solutions for numerous schemes for clients across these sectors.The ability to operate as part of a wider project team and to represent the company with confidence to a variety of clients and outside organisations is required for the role. The candidate will have the ability to work on their own initiative and to coordinatetheir work with others, with high attention to accuracy and detail.As such, there must be demonstrable technical ability and design experience on matters of estate infrastructure, roads and drainage design and detail; experience with design and detail of schemes requiring technical approval of S38, S278 and S104 applications,flood risk assessments and drainage strategies, whilst not essential, will be advantageous to a candidate. Good communication, report writing skills and thorough working capability with AutoCAD and MicroDrainage are essential; familiarity with design softwaresuch as PDS and Civil 3D is desirable and development of skills in these will be provided, if not already held.A self-motivated person will have ample opportunity to improve their knowledge, skills, experience and to work with some of the worlds greatest businesses across a wide range of industry sectors. The role will suit a candidate with a minimum of 3-5 yearsrelevant project engineer post-graduate experience and pursuing their Chartered Engineer status with either the Institution of Civil Engineers or the Institution of Structural Engineers. In this respect, an internal mentoring and fully-funded training programmeaimed at supporting the individuals progression to Chartered Engineer status will be provided.
