The aim is to find someone who is mechanically minded and eager & willing to develop themselves professionally.Westray Recruitment Group is seeking to recruit a Trainee Mechanical Maintenance Technician for our client based in Higham Ferrers.Full training and support will be given to the successful applicant. The aim is to find someone who is mechanically minded and eager & willing to develop themselves professionally.The Companys principal focus is the design, manufacture and operation of specialist equipment and temporary works for the construction of bridges, buildings, offshore structures, refineries, power stations and industrial plants.The job is primarily based in Higham Ferrers at their workshop and the role is to perform equipment maintenance, repair, testing, and upgrade. Occasional travel is required to provide site support and training to customers. In addition, you will be requiredto assist the operations team preparing documentation for equipment sales and rental.THE ROLE
  • Servicing and maintenance of hydraulic and mechanical lifting equipment
  • Housekeeping and record keeping of the workshop
  • Installation and commissioning of equipment on site
  • Operation of equipment on site
  • Providing training to customers on the use, servicing, and repair of the equipment
  • Writing of technical literature to accompany equipment
  • Occasionally attending Factory Testing of equipment
THE PERSON
  • Some experience of mechanical fitting/working with machines/engines
  • Willing to take on additional responsibilities and develop professional skills
  • Generally fit and healthyable to undertake manual work
  • Driving Licence
  • Passport
  • Willingness to travel, sometimes overseas to support our projects.
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
Preferable:
  • Some construction site experience
  • Experience with Hydraulic systems
  • Experience with High Voltage or Low Voltage electrics
  • Experience with engines
  • FLT licence
THE PACKAGE As this is an entry level role it pays from £20K upwards depending on experience.
