WHAT COMPANY YOU WILL BE WORKING FORWestray Recruitment Consultants is looking to recruit CAD Technician/Draughtsman on a permanent contract for our client based in Northamptonshire.The Company`s principal focus is the design, manufacture and operation of specialist equipment and temporary works for the construction of bridges, buildings, offshore structures, refineries, power stations and industrial plants. The business has particularexpertise in the erection of long-span suspension and cable-stayed bridges and in the engineering for specialist modular construction including heavy lifting and skidding operations. The organisation is a dynamic, technology-driven company who encourage theiremployees to interact, innovate and develop within a supportive, close-knit environment.To strengthen the engineering team they require CAD Technician/Draughtsman with several years of experience using Autodesk Inventor. The successful candidate will be involved in the conceptual and detailed design of construction engineering schemes, specialistequipment and temporary works.WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING IN YOUR ROLEThe successful candidate will work closely with our engineers using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD software as follows;* Producing 2D draughts* Create preliminary 3-D models for use in sales and marketing, and also develop/produce detailed 3-D master models for secured projects.* Produce general arrangements, marking plans and detailed steelwork manufacturing drawings from master models for the manufacture of components and assembly/erection of steel structures.* Produce geometrical set-outs and arrangements for concepts and design development.* Produce scheme drawings which define construction methods and sequences.* Produce material schedules for information with respect to pricing and procurement.* Check drawingsWHAT EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITIONEssential:* Minimum of 5 years` experience in a similar role and ability to demonstrate a sound practical knowledge of the important aspects of steelwork detailing for fabrication and corresponding site works. (preferably time served draughtsperson or similar qualification)* Ability to use 3-D modelling CAD software Inventor and AutoCAD* Knowledge of steelwork detailing for manufacturing and erection/assembly.* Good general IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, E-mail systems etc)* Good presentation and communications skillsPreferable:* Some experience/knowledge for the design of temporary works, particularly related to heavy lifting and moving projects.WHAT ARE THE FINER DETAILS OF YOUR ROLEThis is a permanent contract working day shift hoursWHAT SALARY PACKAGE YOU WILL BE RECEIVINGThis position pays circa £40K per annum depending on experience. The role comes with 23 days holiday plus statutory as standard rising to 24 after 3 years` service and 25 following 5 years` service.
