Job Description

Laboratory Manager£40,000 to £45,000 plus BenefitsBuxtonFMCG ManufacturingA large FMCG manufacturing company are looking for a Laboratory Manager to join the R&D team. You will ensure compliance with all corporate policies and procedures in the laboratory, recommending measure to improve testing procedures. You will have a backgroundof running & managing a laboratory with strong understanding of plastics and chemicals.As a Laboratory Manager your day-to-day responsibilities will consist of.

  • Responsible for ensuring efficient and effective departmental operations
  • Ensure that project milestones are met and schedule of staff according to business priorities.
  • Utilise managerial skills and lab safety know how to ensure a safe working environment and implement policies and procedures relating to lab activities.
  • Review, monitor, track, and trend technical and employee performance.
  • Extend customer service to include all internal and external customers.
  • Lead the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints
  • Ensure communication of laboratory data and appropriate result reporting
  • Comply with all corporate policy procedures in the laboratory
  • Recommend measures to improve testing procedures, use of equipment and needs for new equipment
  • Monitor, analyse and justify Departments budgetary expenses
An exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Manager with the following.
  • Bachelors Degree in Polymer Science or Chemistry
  • Previous experience running and managing a laboratory environment.
  • A background working with PVC compositions or additives
  • Knowledge of lab HSE procedures
  • A leader, critical thinker, and problem solver
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Positive thinking and self-motivated individual with good communication skills
