Job Description

Reed Logistics are delighted to be partnering with a well known Transport company to recruit for the role of Transport Manager.This is a great role for someone who has experience in managing the distribution of general haulage goods and dealing with customers on a daily basis.

  • £35,000 - £42,000 (depending on experience)
  • County Durham Based
  • 37 - 40 hours per week
  • Full time and Permanent
The Role:-
  • Collaborating with customers/suppliers/drivers and other traffic desks.
  • Planning routes and scheduling delivery times.
  • Proactively work to reduce late deliveries.
  • Work with drivers and Compliance to eliminate infringements.
  • Responsible for employee health and safety.
  • Ensure that vehicles and trailers are available for inspection.
  • Check driving licences and ensure Company drivers and Agency drivers are compliant.
The Person:-
  • Ability to work flexibly and to make decisions quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels.
  • Excel spreadsheets.
  • A good understanding of transport regulations currently in force.
  • Good geographical knowledge.
  • Supply Chain and Customer knowledge across relevant sectors
  • Up to date knowledge of transport and related statutory and regulatory legislation
  • Strong customer service skills
