Business Development Manager Location: Hetton-le-Hole, DH5 0RH.Salary: Up to £45k, although this is dependent on experience.Contract: Full time, permanent.James Jones & Sons Ltd is a 5th generation family business and one of the UK’s largest timber processing companies in the UK.We employ more than 2,000 people based at 38 sites throughout the UK and Australasia. In the UK James Jones & Sons (Pallets and Packaging) Ltd manufactures up to 7 million new pallets and repairs up to 25 million pallets per annum across our 15 sites. Ourpallet and packaging operation benefits from the most advanced manufacturing facilities in the UK, a national distribution network, and offers a complete range of pallets and specialist timber packaging.We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced salesperson. You will primarily focus on developing new sales business however you will also manage a small portfolio of important customers whom we have long standing relationships with. You willwork as part of our sales team, and together will help James Jones continue to grow.You will be based out of our Hetton depot and will ideally work here a couple of days each week, with the remaining time visiting current and prospective customers and our other sites. You will report to the Senior Business Development Manager.Core hours of work are normally 08.00 to 16.30 Monday to Friday. Although, we work flexibly to meet customer expectations.Business Development Manager - Main Duties• Developing new sales channels.• Managing a portfolio of existing customers, developing these relationships, and maximising opportunities to strengthen partnerships.• Travelling within the UK (predominantly Midlands and South East) to visit existing and prospective clients in-person.• Creating and implementing a business plan to maximise sales and deliver excellent standards of customer service & support at all times.• Preparing tenders and negotiating contract terms.• Monitoring customer ordering performance.• Maintain complete and accurate customer records.Key Skills• Previous experience of a proven sales performance and the ability to achieve targets.• A positive influencer, with excellent selling and negotiation.• Ability to work both independently and contribute to a team.• Exceptional interpersonal skills, as well as strong written skills.• Competency in Microsoft applications and CRM practices.• Good administrative, organisational and time management skills.• Full UK driving licence.The package• Salary - up to £45k, although this is dependent on experience.• Bonus - up to 10% of salary, based on company and individual performance.• Enhanced pension scheme with good employer contributiona.• Car, Mobile phone, and laptop.Applicants must be able to provide eligibility to work in the UK without the need for sponsorshipIf you feel you have the skills and experience to be our new Business Development Manager then apply today!
