Due to a new and exciting contract win, our client are looking to recruit an experienced Employment Lawyer to join their team. Initially you will be remotely based, however there will a mix of office and home based working in the future.OverviewTo manage a caseload of employment law claims/disputes as and when they arise;To provide technical advice and support to firms HR department on matters of employment law, practice and procedure, as and when required;To handle any internal employment law disputes/matters that may arise, providing advice and assistance to the HR department and/or Executive Board ;To assist in the operation of a general legal advice helpline - specifically assisting with an employment law helpline providing clients with employment law advice as and when required;To provide and manage any employment law MI and provide MI as and when requested;To liaise with any external lawyers appointed by the firm ensuring that any internal employment disputes are handled efficiently and confidentially;To provide technical employment law advice and guidance as and when needed;To research areas of law as and when necessary and provide guidance and advice;To provide relevant training on employment law matters as and when required;To ensure regular reviews of employment contracts, internal policies and procedures and advice on any amendments/updates as and when necessary ;To be able to manage a caseload of employment law cases/disputes whilst at the same time supporting the firm’s employment law helpline and dealing with any internal employment law matters that may arise.Key Duties and Responsibilities• Manage any employment law cases /disputes upon which the firm may be instructed ;• Manage and handle any internal employment disputes – litigated and non-litigated – that may arise• Participate in and provide support to an employment law legal helpline, providing advice and guidance to clients as and when required• To ensure understanding and compliance with internal SLAs, policies and procedures• To review employment policies/ practices across the firm, implementing any changes as and when needed• To provide full supervisory support and guidance on technical issues involving matters of employment law• To ensure any IT developments are appropriately implemented• To provide employment law training across the firm as and when needed• Ensure the that an excellent level of customer service is provided and that clients’ expectations are proactively managed and any employment law cases are progressed• To highlight any potential risks to senior management• To provide review and analyse any employment law MI and provide reports as and when necessary• Identify and provide and training needs across the firm• Keep up to date with all industry changes including case law, legislation and other matters of relevance and provide advice and guidance• Liaise with Senior Management and HR regarding any staff issues• To undertake any other tasks as deemed relevant and reasonable by the businessRequirements Experience & Knowledge• Qualified Solicitor, Member/Fellow of CILEX or an experienced Lawyer with at least 5 years’ employment law experience• Ability to compile and analyse data and take action according to the results• Commercially minded, and able to see opportunities to optimise outcomes on cases, both for the client and the firm• Competent working with a case management system and good knowledge of MS OfficeDesirables• High standard of quality of work, organisational skills and attention to detail.• Experience in presenting data to an audience in a straightforward way.• Strong communication skills and ability to lead by example.
