  • The Trusts public affairs work combines government relations, media communications, issue management, corporate and social responsibility, information dissemination and strategic communications advice. This post contributes to the development and implementationof proactive internal and external communication, engagement, and digital processes for the trust.
  • To manage and plan the content and administration of online channels and encourage integration of websites and other online communications tools throughout the trust platforms.
  • To participate in implementing and to encourage colleagues to uphold trust strategies, and specifically digital plans, for internal and external communications including evaluation, performance management and continuous improvement.
  • To work as a key member of the Communications and Engagement directorate at trust, to publish information online for internal and external audiences to provide a responsive, efficient, and effective engagement and communications service for staff, volunteers,and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the successful overall performance of trust by monitoring digital channels, support Trust corporate planning and act as a brand and digital champion influencing colleagues to adopt guidelines and appropriate behaviours online.
  • Producing appropriate progress and performance reporting and ensuring evaluation and analysis informs planning.
  • Providing digital support and advice to staff.
  • If required, participate in the media desk rota, which requires handling sensitive and confidential information about incidents, patient data or other confidential sources and drafting appropriate responses.
Duties
  • The post holder will have some general or specific contact with the following:
  • All leaders, staff, and volunteers
  • Public, patients, and stakeholders online
  • External contractors such as digital contractors and designers
  • Public Affairs directorate members
  • Chief Executive, Chair, executive directors, and non-executive directors
  • Colleagues in similar roles in the wider NHS and ambulance services.
  • To plan, co-ordinate and develop and upload new creative content, images, and documents to digital platforms.
  • To plan, co-ordinate and develop and upload content, images and documents to the Trust Intranet and Website
  • Take editorial responsibility for all intranet and website content. Develop and maintain appropriate quality control systems to ensure information is accurate, timely, in line with legal requirements.
  • To respond to enquiries from staff and the public, which means handling complex and sensitive information and developing appropriate responses to help protect the Trusts reputation. This regularly involves receiving and responding to social media posts,phone calls and other correspondence from angry or distressed members of the public.
  • To build relationships with colleagues across trusts and with the software development team to support effective website and intranet maintenance.
  • To arrange meetings and events, where required, including organising, researching from the CAD, and attending patient meet-ups when crews/AOC and patients meet following a traumatic incident.
  • To have responsibility for obtaining and comparing quotes and recommending suppliers, raising purchase orders, and completing documentation for payment (for sign off by Head of Communications and Engagement), for example for print jobs, software licences,supplies of camera equipment etc)
  • To respond to patients, the public and wider stakeholders by providing non-Clinical advice or information.
  • To work as part of the wider Communications and Engagement directorate to support the effective running of the Trust
  • Ensure that digital data collected is analysed, reported as appropriate and monitor the processing of data and information
  • Working with the digital manager, to develop and implement plans particularly relating to usability and design of the website and social media
  • Create, source, and maintain the content and maintaining branding, look and feel of the websites and social media, working with leads across trusts on a daily basis.
  • Participating in the design and creation of communications tools, such as photographs, films, posters, and leaflets
  • Participate and where required lead on implementing sometimes complex digital media strategies.
  • Deputise for the digital manager as a second point of contact for contractors for digital platforms, for example the internet and intranet, as appropriate.
  • Recognise, monitor, and remove inappropriate - and report where appropriate - comments on social media
  • Maintain and monitor access to platforms and evaluate the effectiveness of such channels
  • Support the maintenance of discussion forums, online chats, surveys, and other web/e-based engagement tools
  • Facilitate equality, diversity, and accessibility with regards to the internet and intranet sites.
  • Market and promote internet, intranet and digital communication channels internally within the Trust.
  • Develop and implement campaigns with the Communications & Engagement team, using established relationships in the Trust to help fulfil outcomes.
