Job Description

Secondary Humanities TeacherASAP, possibly till after May Half termA secondary academy in St Helens seeks applications from outstanding applicants with integrity, imagination, and energy for this rewarding role.This is a fantastic opportunity for a well-qualified, driven professional who is an outstanding classroom practitioner to join their academy. The Academy has a focus on creating a culture of success and a positive climate for learning.We are seeking applications from both experienced and aspiring Humanities Teachers. The school is are committed to delivering the best possible Humanities curriculum and the current Faculty leadership structure is a Head of Faculty and a Second in Faculty- each to lead one of Geography or History.If you are interested in the above role, please contact Krystina on /CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS:

  • Likely Duration - ongoing until May 2024, possibly longer

  • Minimum rate of pay - from £140 per day
  • Hours - 8:15am - 4pm
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Degree educated with a good classification, preferably in Mathematics (however, it is not essential that it is Maths related)
  • Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, B.Ed, QTS, etc) in Maths
  • Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference)
  • Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (which we can reference)
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training)
  • Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost of £45.80
  • Provide a minimum of two professional references
