Job Description

Were insearch of a dedicated First-Year Tourism Tutor to become an integral part of our dynamic team in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.As a First-Year Tourism Tutor, you will contribute effectively to the successful learning experiences of students in the College through effective teaching that meets or exceeds College standards and results in high levels of student retention and achievement.You will teach on our First Year Tourism module (there is one module in Semester A and one module in Semester B), at 4 hours per week. As a Lecturer, you will contribute to the design, development, production of teaching materials and delivery across a rangeof modules.Salary: From £24.90 to £41.79per/hour depending on qualification and teaching experience.First-Year Tourism Tutor Requirements:

  • Minimum Master’s degree in a relevant subject
  • Teaching and assessment experience in UK higher or further education
  • Teaching qualification or be prepared to work towards completion, with experience of working with international students
  • Commitment to and understanding of the development of students of diverse backgrounds.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and adaptably to meet the changing needs of the organisation
  • Understand equal opportunity issues as they may impact on academic content and issues relating to student needs
Desirable:
  • PhD or Professional Doctorate in a relevant subject
  • Experience in curriculum design
  • Network with relevant employers and industry sector related to the specialism
