School Caretaker and Facilities AssistantAbout the roleThe successful SchoolCaretaker and Facilities Assistant will be responsible for the day-to-day cleaning and housekeeping of all the school buildings. This is a position which requires the candidate to be able to communicateeffectively with all levels of staff on a daily basis. The School Caretaker and Facilities Assistant must be flexible in their approach and be willing to adapt to meet the ever-changing needs of the School (situated in Hatfield).The role would ideally suit a physically fit person, who will be given on the job training if required, with some experience of an Educational working environment, or similar, being an advantage. Being reliable and a team player is an essential requirementfor this position, as is having a good sense of humour, along with a desire to develop ideas and further enhance our inside/outside/ECO surroundings.As a School Caretaker and Facilities Assistant within the school in Hatfield, you will be responsible for: Housekeeping, Stores, Maintenance, Lettings, Waste Management and other duties as advised by the head teacher.The safety and well-being of the children in School is paramount at all times. The School Caretaker and Facilities Assistant is responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children for whom they are responsible, or with whom they come into contact. The School Caretaker and Facilities Assistant will adhere to and ensure compliance with the Schools Child Protection Policy at all times.If the School Caretaker and Facilities Assistant becomes aware of any actual or potential risks to the safety or welfare of children in the School, it is their responsibility to report any concerns to the schools Designated Senior Lead for Child Protectionor the Headmaster.Hours will be from 3.45pm - 7pm Monday to Thursday and 4pm - 7pm on a Friday. This will be a permanent contract for 52 weeks per year however, for a suitable candidate this can be a term time role only.Benefits
