Job Description

Class 2 HGV Hiab Driver is sought by a leading builders merchant with two branches in and around north London, to join their Welham Green depot.The Role:Youll deliver the companys building materials products to companies in and around the M25. Your duties will include:

  • Complying with all drivers hours and Road Transport Directive legislation
  • Carrying out all necessary checks to ensure vehicle is safe and legal and to rectify by following appropriate procedures if it is not
  • Acting as company ambassador when dealing with customers
  • Completing all paperwork promptly and accurately as required (include any electronic devices that might be used, scanners, hand held POD etc)
  • Planning and adapting routes as necessary and feeding back to traffic office on any issues around load planning and routing
  • Complying with all Health & Safety requirements in depot, on road and at customers premises and to take responsibility for ensuring own fitness to drive at all times
The successful HGV Driver will have:
  • Full HGV licence with no more than 3 points (with no previous DD/IN convictions)
  • Full and valid CPC qualifications
  • Hiab / Moffett or Crane experience
  • Knowledge of driving legislation particularly tachograph requirements
  • You will be prepared to work flexible hours to meet customer needs
  • Physically fit and with a good level of literacy
  • Good planning skills and the ability to show initiative and a strong positive attitude
  • Communication skills and the ability to form good relationships with customers
  • Responding effectively to achieve branch targets and performance goals
  • Self-motivated with the drive to achieve required standards and goals
Benefits:
  • Up to £38,000 salary depending on experience

  • Hours: 6am to 4pm Monday to Friday, alternate Saturdays 7am to 1pm
