Assist and support the financial controller in the effective day to day management of the finance department and functions from their central Hatfield head offices.Client DetailsThe client is one of the market leaders in providing top quality service to major Leisure and Sports business all over the UK. Based in Hatfield, this company have gone from strength to strength in recent years and are now looking to add to their team.DescriptionProvide effective support across all aspects of finance functions and day to day management.Support in the timely preparation of accurate month end accounts with useful management reports and information for the Board of Directors.Month end duties will include, but not restricted to, standard journal entries, accruals and prepayments.Prepare month end bank reconciliations.Responsible for monthly reconciliation of balance sheets items and control accounts.Assist in the important task of maintaining the company fixed assets register, calculation of month end depreciation and recording of additions and disposals.Provide significant support to the sales ledger department in revenue generation. This will include review and gaining in-depth understanding of client contracts so that accurate sales invoices are raised on a timely basis.Assist with preparation of monthly payroll, annual PAYE returns, P11D and any other compliance work.· Assist with the running of subsidiary company and maintaining accurate accounting records plus inter-company balance reconciliation.Manage the various company pension schemes and prepare monthly submission.Prepare quarterly VAT returns. Ensure prompt submission and payment as they fall due.Participate in preparation of annual statutory audit.Provide support in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts. Assist with implementation of new finance software packages when required.· Proactive in assessing internal controls and processes and putting forward effective proposal for system improvement and upgrade.Profile
