Job Description

A rapidly expanding aerospace related company are searching for an experienced RF Design Engineer to join their multi-disciplinary engineering team. The company design and manufacture cutting edge, customised products on their Basingstoke site in compact lead times. With new projects having recently come into the business and more on the horizon, they have need for an intuitive RF Design Engineer to join the team and build smart innovations into their product design.The Role of RF Design EngineerThe RF Design Engineer will use their experience and strong technical abilities to design RF components integral to the completed product, taking responsibility for the accuracy of feeds in line with specifications and producing related documentation.About You

  • A highly motivated self-starter, able to work autonomously, effectively, accurately and efficiently.Qualified Engineer to degree level or above or time served equivalent industry experience.
  • Practiced and well-versed in the use of EM simulation software (e.g. CST, HFSS, Ticra, WASP-NET, etc).
  • Hold mature knowledge and experience in design and simulation of antennas and radiating structures from UHF to Q&V-band.
  • A history including the design and simulation of feed horns and waveguide components (septum polarisers, filters, diplexers) in the range of 1 – 55GHz.
  • Possess a good understanding of RF test and verification principles and techniques (including far field measurements).
  • Good knowledge and experience with RF measurement instruments, techniques and methods (e.g. VNA coaxial and waveguide calibration and measurements, spectrum analysers, power meters, etc).
  • Able to produce clear diagrams, test procedures and/or production instructions.
  • Good communications and organisation skills.
    • Key Duties
  • Design, simulate and optimise RF components, feed horns, radiating structures, etc. to meet customer specifications using EM simulation software tools.
  • Produce the relevant design and production documentation (simulation results, diagrams, procedures, etc).
  • Support the RF system design efforts.
  • Co-ordinate with other departments for specifying bills of materials, manufacturing and verification methods.
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time.
