Mechanical Design Engineer£28-33p/hHampshire6 MonthsA fantastic opportunity has arisen for a mechanical design engineer on a 6 month contract basis with an increasing successful manufacturing organisation based in the Hampshire area.The company design and manufacture satellite communications systems.The Mechanical Design Engineer is required to have the following;

Degree/HND in Mechanical Engineering

Minimum 3years working experience in a mechanical design role

Creo design experience essential

Teamcenter/PLM sytems knowledge

Good problem-solving skills and ability to work to deadlines.

Experience designing machined, cast, pressed, fabricated and composite components.

Experience performing GD&T analysis and working with tight tolerances for dynamic assemblies.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be required to do the following;

Generate and agree product concept designs and specifications through to finalised product designs.

Produce sound mechanical designs and documentation sufficient to enable full manufacturing documentation to be produced, fulfilling agreed concepts and specifications.

Designing composite mouldings, castings and other mechanical piece parts and systems to meet the product requirements in the most cost-effective way.Specifying COTS items, utilising standard parts and perform design reviews.

Check engineering drawings produced by engineering team.

Change control and modifications.

Review and action development and production change notes as required.

Populating the design database and archive.

Plan own workload and take responsibility for own output.

Liaising with other areas of engineering (e.g. electrical, software, RF) production and procurement to produce considered design solutions.
