Job Description

Supply Chain ManagerHaslingden45k - 50k p.aNormal office hours, based at the head office in Haslingden, with some flexibility on hours and working from home.Key skills/ experience:

  • A working knowledge of Lean and/or Continuous improvement techniques
  • Degree or Equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management or similar field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Teams Word - Visio preferable)
  • Working experience of relevant software used in supply chain management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
The role:
  • Create the companys supply chain strategy in line with company strategy, policies, standards, laws, and regulations
  • Implement strategy, leading the supply chain team in executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Monitor and Assess performance of freight companies and maintaining cost-effective practices (Note - SCM decides SLA with customer services, negotiation of contracts continues with Purchasing Director).
  • Manage production planning function - understanding business and customer requirements, analysing demand and operational information to optimize service and efficiency
  • Work directly with sales department to determine most cost-effective distribution solutions for finished goods transportation to customers.
  • Support proper utilisation of ERP system and other software.
  • Analyse supply chain data, solving issues and delivering improvements cost effectively
  • Oversee product storage and handling; Optimize inventory levels whilst maintaining exceptional service to customers
  • Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth
  • Develop and implement safety guidelines in all aspects of the supply chain (e.g., use of trucks, forklifts)
  • Consider the environmental impact of the supply chain to meet sustainability targets
  • Manage costs whilst maintaining quality
  • Lead, develop and train the supply chain staff - creating a culture of customer service excellence delivered with exceptional efficiency
  • Implement new technologies and stay alert to new trends and developments in the sector.
