Job Description

Job title: Geography TeacherLocation: Haslingden, LancashireStart date: February 2023Contract length: initially until the end of the academic year, with the potential to extend for the right candidateAre you looking for your next step to develop your career in Geography An Ofsted rated good Secondary School in the BB4 area of Lancashire are looking to recruit a new member to broaden their ambitious Geography team. This presents an excellent opportunityfor the successful candidate to broaden their skills and increase their teaching experience at a large, well-established school.This post is suitable for ECTs and experienced practitioners.The successful candidate should:

  • Have QTS status, with previous experience teaching Geography over KS3 and KS4
  • Have a natural passion for the subject, providing engaging lessons for the students
  • Be ambitious, creative, and highly motivated with the capacity to provide and produce diverse lessons
  • Be able to deliver the curriculum in a way that provides positive outcomes, whilst also promoting the students to ask questions to confirm understanding
  • Be able to maintain classroom focus and manage any challenging behaviour
  • Be comfortable handing a class of up to 30 students, ranging from ages 11-16
