Job Description

Job Title: Warehouse Forklift Truck DriverLocation: Haslingden, BB4 5HHSalary: £10.50 to £11.50 per hour.Job Type: Permanent, Full Time.Flexipol is BRC certificated and is an approved food packaging supplier to manufacturers in the Marks and Spencer supply chain.The Company is now in its 28th year, and during this time the business has grown each year steadily, providing long term secure employment. The Company prides itself on its innovative approach to product design and manufacturing, along with an excellentreputation for high-quality customer service.We solve our customers toughest packaging challenges through our unique blend of technical collaboration, innovation and extraordinary service.The role:To assist in the efficient and effective running of the various Warehouse functions, and to give continuity and support across all departments.Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Assist in support of the production process; supply materials necessary for production of work in progress and finished goods in accordance with the materials requisition sheet /Extrusion running order.
    • This includes ensuring sufficient levels of polymers / masterbatches / additives / packaging etc. for extrusion, and work in progress and packaging for print and conversion. This also includes responding to any requests made by shift managers or shift supervisorsof FPL that are necessary for the correct and efficient management of production at FPL
  • Assist in movement and efficient and safe storage of work in progress and finished goods resulting from goods produced in extrusion / print and conversion areas. This includes key involvement in communication of all locating and subsequent movements ofthese items, using and ensuring the correct labelling is present on all goods at all times.
  • Assist where necessary in safe and efficient loading and unloading of all goods being dispatched from FPL. This includes all paperwork being correctly checked and accounted for.
  • To comply with all training and safe working practices as directed by FPL that relate to warehouse functions.
  • To ensure working area is appropriately clean, tidy and well organised, and that all housekeeping logs are updated accordingly.
  • To ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the health and safety policy and procedures, reporting any relevant information to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • To ensure that FLTs are operated safely and efficiently in accordance with training given and where appropriate, the Highway Code. If the warehouse operative does not have a full and valid UK driving license, it is strictly not permitted for operative todrive a FLT on public roads, however providing all training and examination is carried out to and acceptable level it is permitted for operative to carry out duties within the boundaries of FPL.
  • To coordinate all individual tasks and duties in accordance with the shift manager and the warehouse supervisor to ensure the shift is operated in the most efficient manner and to best meet demand.
    • Solvent handling - assist in safe handling, loading and unloading of inks and solvents.
    • FLT gas storage - assist in safe storage and handling of gas for FLTs.
    • Scrap material - assist in movement of scrap material within FPL, compilation of figures pertaining to scrap material, and collection of same.
    • Assist in the gritting plan where necessary.
The Candidate:
  • Ability to work flexible hours on a continental shift pattern working through days, nights, and weekends.
  • Self-motivated and can work under pressure.
  • A can-do attitude, able to overcome obstacles with a team approach.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Good practical skills.
Knowledge, Training and Experience required:
  • FLT driver with previous experience of working within a busy manufacturing environment.
  • Counterbalance License
  • Driving Licence is essential (As crossing public road)
