In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs for our metalwork projects, ensuring that we deliver competitive pricing to our clients. You will havethe opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, including air and gas preheaters, steel fabrications, site installations, mechanical overhauls, and bulk materials handling.Responsibilities:- Review project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to determine the scope of work and materials required- Collaborate with the design and fabrication teams to develop accurate and comprehensive cost estimates- Analyse project requirements and determine the most efficient and cost-effective fabrication methods- Source and negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors- Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labour, materials, equipment, and overhead expenses- Present estimates to clients in a clear and professional manner- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure that cost estimates align with project timelines and objectives- Track and maintain accurate records of project costs and communicate any changes or adjustments to the project team- Continuously monitor market trends and industry standards to stay up-to-date with pricing and costing practicesRequirements:- Proven experience as a Metalwork Estimator or a similar role in the metalwork industry- Strong knowledge of metalwork fabrication processes and materials- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills- Strong attention to detail and accuracy- Advanced skills in cost estimating software and Microsoft Excel- Effective communication and negotiation skills- Ability to work independently and as part of a team- A proactive and results-oriented approachCompensation:We offer a competitive salary range of £30,000 to £45,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
