Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Freight Operations Clerk, to join an established business in Harwich. This role is temporary and will be for a duration of 3 months. You will be based within the Operations Shift Centre, providing clerical support to a busy team.Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week. ASAP start until the end of Feb 2021.Duties Include:

  • Ensure compliance of all policies, procedures, standard operating practices, with recommendations for action and continuous improvement.
  • First point of contact for customers
  • Assisting with freight bookings, rate enquiries, hazardous goods enquiries
  • Deputise for Shift Manager
  • Issuing of all relevant documentation to operational staff for vessel working
  • Issuing drivers tickets
  • Inspect shipments content documentation, upon arrival and departure
  • Liaise with and attend meetings, as required
  • Weighbridge operation
  • Maintenance of records including statistical data and port entrance camera
  • Issuing of Euro-vignettes
  • Checking-in and issuing gate passes for unaccompanied freight traffic
  • Issuing of RA passes
  • Experience Required:
  • Previous experience working within a shipping, transport & Logistics company
  • Strong adminstration and data entry skills
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work to deadlines and tight time-frames
  • Flexible, reliable and trust worthy
