Role- Subcontract Manager (6 months contractor x 2)Location - HarlowReq ID - 169876BRReporting directly to Head of Weapons and Sensors, this role will work with a embedded specialist Subcontract and Materials Team to deliver key programmes for the business during bidding stage and the further into execution and delivery phase.Working as a member of a very high complex programme management team, this role participates in strategy development, leads Subcontract Management and Materials activities including supplier selection, teaming and relationship development and co-ordination of responses to customer Requests for Proposal and change.•Establishes and maintains non-routine subcontracts of high value and complexity•Identifies and manages commercial risk•Interfaces internally and externally at senior level with large and sophisticated suppliers and the ultimate end users•Develops external partners and alliances and collaborative behaviour sets and resolves complex problems and disputes•Manages the MPM team to formulate a materials strategy enabling the supply chain to deliver on time•Formulates strategy for the Sensors area and turns this into operational reality with the support of the teamMain Duties:•Working with large and sophisticated platform integrators as suppliers and internal multi-functional teams:•Works with a team of Subcontract specialists and MPMs supported by other functions to deliver programmatic needs, helping develop and manage the team to deliver supplier performance;•Prepare and implement Teaming and Subcontract management strategies and relationship management plans;•Develop innovative supply chain solutions;•Negotiate Non-Standard Subcontract Agreements including developing cost reduction opportunities•Identify and manage business risk•Administer complex due diligence activity•Maximise programme financial performance associated with subcontracts;•Ensure Subcontractor compliance and performance and manage issues and disputes•Accept and pay for goods and services•maintain governance and appropriate records•Manage change•Functional representative at customer, supplier and internal reviews including Gates, MRBs and EACs•Produce business cases / briefing material for senior management reviews•may participate in or lead cross-functional improvement activityRequired Skills:•Experience of high value subcontract negotiations including flowdown of MoD terms to large sophisticated suppliers•Experience of managing the performance of large, sophisticated Defence suppliers including collaborative working using a BS11000 methodology•Strong programme management and financial management skills to include Schedule managementRisk and opportunity managementEarned value managementChange ManagementEstimate at Complete analysisIssue management, problem solving and dispute resolutionGood experience of Supplier Relation Management (SRM)Experience in Kraljic / Porters five forcesAble to work in and lead a multi-functional team•Excellent negotiating and influencing skills•Flexible and positive attitude•Experience of proposal development•Ability and willingness to travel within the UK and possibly of some overseas travelDesired Skills:•Experience of contracting with large value subcontracts within the aerospace and defence industry•Good working knowledge of import / export legislation•Strong network of industry / internal contacts•Excellent experience of make/Buy reviews and Supplier Management and Engagement Plans•Eligible for or holder of current SC security clearance•Good understanding of Electronics or SensorsRequired Education (including Major):•Related degree (Business or Engineering) or equivalent experienceStandard Benefits:• 25 days holiday + statutory public holidays• Contributory Pension Scheme (up to 10.5% company contribution)• 6 times salary Life Assurance• Flexible Benefits scheme with extensive salary sacrifice schemes.• Enhanced sick pay scheme• Enhanced Family Friendly Policies, including enhanced Maternity & Shared Parental leave.• 37hr working week, with an early finish Friday (hours may vary depending on role, job requirement or site specifics arrangements).• Flexible working arrangements can be considered wherever we can (depending on the role) so please enquire or highlight any request to our Recruitment team to explore flexible working possibilities.• Canteen facilities available at Harlow & Glenrothes sites and Manchester & Gloucester offer free snacks & drinks (hot & cold).Diversity:Diversity is a core business imperative at Raytheon.
