This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive team to enrich your expertise. The successful applicant will join the Microbiology team as a new Specialty Doctor in Microbiology, following the retirement of a Consultant in the Department. In this role as a Clinical microbiologist you will maintain strong antimicrobial stewardship, undertake daily ward rounds including ITU and HDU, work closely with the DIPC, Consultant Microbiologist(s), IPCT, Microbiology lead BMS, Laboratory and Pharmacy staff, and clinical teams. There are strong links with CCGs and GPs.The appointee will be encouraged to develop a special interest to compliment the roles and interests of the existing Consultant Microbiologists.The post holder will undertake laboratory authorisation which includes serology and virology.Harlow is an attractive modern town in West Essex which boasts excellent shopping and leisure facilities. Good schools and other facilities are available locally. First class road and rail links within easy reach of London (London Liverpool Street is less than 45 minutes by train), Cambridge and Stansted Airport by means of excellent rail (20 minutes) and motorway links.
