Job Description

Position Description:

  • Repair and calibrate instruments in-house and at customer facilities
  • Perform I.Q.O.Q.P.Q. on instruments in-house and at customer facilities
  • Contact customers to schedule on-site field service visits and provide quotations
  • Maintain electronic call handling system, clearing, and issuing test certificates both electronically and in hard copy
  • Instruct customers on features and benefits of instruments that can provide enhanced testing capability, working with them to increase their understanding and use of instrumentation, along with the appropriate analysis to match their need with the right instrument
  • Maintain accurate records relating to Loan equipment, reference equipment calibration, customer instrument records, calibration certificates, quotes, and invoicing
  • Receive and dispatch instruments including packaging and shipping documentation
  • Train customers on proper use and care of equipment, especially as it relates to sensitivity and maintenance-related aspects
  • Maintain a high level of technical awareness for the entire product range
  • Support technical training as required
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or as required
    • Position Requirements:
  • Qualified to a minimum of HNC/HND in a relevant discipline
  • Previous experience of onsite service/commissioning and working in a technical support environment
  • Ability to analyse and rapidly solve complex problems
  • Proven IT skills using Microsoft packages and bespoke software
  • Electronic system fault finding
  • Good mechanical comprehension skills
  • Ability to use precision tools exercising a high degree of dexterity
  • Self-motivated
  • First rate customer facing experience is essential
  • Able to prioritise tasks
  • Works well under pressure
  • Strong trouble shooting skills and a passion for problem solving and investigation
  • Ability to communicate technically with people at all levels, both in writing and verbally
