Job Description

Healthy Schools Engagement Worker working in Harlow and Epping Forest - Full Time Position(Salary negotiable within banding)About our serviceThe Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service (ECFWS) brings together a range of existing services, having been commissioned by Essex County Council and the West Essex Clinical Commissioning Group.The service, which is provided by Virgin Care in partnership with Barnardos, ensures that families continue to have easy access to local services, with staff able to reach children and families in the community; whether in one of ourFamily Hubs or Delivery Sites, an Early Years Setting or School, or in a familys home. This flexible and innovative new way of working is about providing services without walls and ensuring those families who need support the most are easily reached.Broad areas of support and service delivery are: Health Visiting Parenting Support School Nursing FamilyHealth Resilience and Child Development Support for ages 0-19 (25 SEND)

  • We are seeking a passionate, dynamic and experienced practitioner to work with schools, partner organisations and families to raise the profile of public health needs and work in partnership to narrow health inequalities for the schoolpopulation.
Healthy Schools Engagement Worker role:
  • To coordinate and undertake health needs assessments in schools
  • To assist schools in gathering, understanding and utilising health and wellbeing data
  • To identify, prioritise and implement programmes of support in response to needs of the school population through the development of a robust action plan and subsequent monitoring
  • Lead and coordinate the Healthy Schools engagement process.
  • Co-ordinate and deliver Healthy Schools network meetings and training sessions
  • Provide support to schools through 1-1/group intervention or training.
  • Actively participate in Quality Assurance
A valid driving licence and use of a car is essential for this role.Applications are shortlisted by demonstrated experience aligned to the Person Specification and Addendum.
