Are you an experienced procurement professional Do you have strong relationship building skills We are recruiting for a Buyer to join a leading food supplier in Harlow, Essex working Monday - Friday 8.30am-5pm paying a salary of up to £35k.Reporting to the Procurement Director, you will work within the purchasing department of this leading supplier processing purchase orders, developing bids and proposals and drafting/negotiating supplier contracts. It will be your responsibility to manage supplier performance as well as identifying new suppliers to maximise quality, minimise costs and deliver savings into the business. You will be working with key stakeholders to ensure efficient and accurate processing, while maintaining high service levels.To be successful in this role you will need previous purchasing experience from the food industry / food distribution (experience in ambient temperature or seafood is advantageous). You will needa strong understanding of supply chain management, stock control, managing suppliers and tenders. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills will also be needed along with excellent communication skills.
