Job Description

Alternative Provision (SEMH) located in Haringey is currently recruiting for a full time Youth Worker or Behaviour Mentor to start immediately!This Alternative Provision is a Creative, Innovative, inclusive & place that supports students who have behavioural difficulties (SEMH/ CAMHS/ ADHD/ ASD/ Behaviour etc) The provision has a successful SLT with excellent leadership and managerial capabilities. SEN Teachers & Support staff are consistent and are able to support their students well to be the best versions of themselves. Pupils who attend are between secondary and post-16 ages. It is imperative that all new staff have SEN experience with children; ieSEN/ ASD/ ADHD/SEMH/ CAMHS / Challenging Behaviour.This is a great opportunity for a full time and ongoing Youth Worker/ Behaviour Mentor/ LSA /SEN TA/ Behaviour TA / Mentor /HLTA, who has experience working within either a Youth Centre /Alternative Provision/ PRU/ SEN School/ Youth Centre or mainstream School with behaviour difficulties. This role will entail working with SEN pupils with a challenging background on a 1:1 basis and small groups. You have helped support children and young people with challenging behaviour, some of which have been diagnosed with SEN. As a Youth Worker / Behaviour mentor/ LSA/SEN TA, you are excellent in de-escalated behaviour, great at building a strong rapport with children, resilient and engaging.

  • You have worked as either a Youth Worker/ Behaviour Mentor/ LSA/ Learning Mentor/ SEN TA/ HLTAetc
  • The successful Youth Worker/ Behaviour Mentor must be engaging, resilient, pro-active, empathetic, can build a strong rapport with young people, able to de-escalate behaviour with children.
  • You must be focused on wanting to make a positive difference to children with a challenging background or SEN (CAMHS/ SEMH / ASD/ ADHD)
  • You have worked with children on a 1:1 basis and within small groups
  • Must have worked in either; Youth Centre/ Alternative Provision/ SEN School /PRU/ Mainstream School with behaviour
  • Worked with children at Primary and or Secondary levels
  • Must be focused on safeguarding your pupils
  • You live in commutable distance to Haringey
