Job Description

Rateof pay:£500 to £600 per day (DOE)Contract:Contract roleOutside IR35Location: HaringeyHaringey Council are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Repairs Consultant to carry out a detailed review of Haringey’s repairs service and make recommendations for change.The review consists of three key areas:

  • Team restructure and improvement of the management of legal disrepair
  • the effective management of damp and mould in council homes.
  • Recommendations for improvements to the repairs service going forward
Key Responsibilities:Legal disrepair service
  • To develop and implement an effective new structure for the legal disrepair team.
  • To assemble the new team
  • To put in place best practice policies and procedures to reduce the number of disrepair claims and minimise the use and cost of external solicitors
  • To procure contractors to carry outdisrepair works
  • Develop and implement a resident mediation service for disrepair cases
Damp and mould team:
  • Ensure the damp and mould team are operational and fully effective
  • Ensure the team are utilising the best technology and solutions available to tackle damp and mould
  • Provide assurance that following the team are compliant with Haringey’s damp and mould policies and procedures
  • Launch new initiatives around damp and mould minimisation
  • Ensure that the workforce are knowledgeable and fully trained
  • Put measures in place to increase surveyor capacity and ensure that team are carrying out the required follow up visits and works.
  • Put in place systems to report, manage, reduce and deal effectively with case backlogs.
Requirements:
  • Experienced Senior Repairs and Maintenance Consultant, experienced Change Manager, experienced in dealing with legal disrepair.
