Job Description

Management AccountantBarnet Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust is a multiple award-winning, combined mental health and community Trust providing local, regional and national healthcare services. We are one of the largest employers in North London with over 3000 staff delivering a range of mental health and community services to a population of over one million.In Enfield, we provide a full range of child and adult community health services, which over the last few years has been integrating with its mental health services to provide better and more holistic care.BEH manages the renowned North London Forensic Services (NLFS), rated as Outstanding by the CQC. This service treats and cares for people within the criminal justice system who have mental health conditions. We have also been appointed as the lead provider of forensic mental health services across North London managing the devolved New Models of care budget of £170m from 2018/19. NLFS delivers mental health care across some of the prisons and provides mental health services as HM Young Offenders Institutions in Aylesbury.We also provide one of the largest eating disorder services in England, as well as drug and alcohol services and mental health liaison services in North Middlesex University Hospitals Trust.Our values and quality improvement are at the heart of everything we do, please consider joining us.The Financial Management team at BEH work closely with a range of front line, clinical support and corporate functions agree, and track delivery against financial plans. With the department having moved to a new ledger platform in 2019/20, there is now focus on improving the regular month-end reporting processes and moving to a business partnering approach.To enable this change a new interim structure for the team has been agreed. There is therefore the openings for some new roles in the team on a fixed term contract basis, until end Q2 21/22 when the move to the end-state structure will be completed.The Management Accountant role, reports to a deputy finance manager and is responsible for managing the financial reporting and planning for a clinical division. The post-holder will work closely with budget holders to ensure accuracy of budget plans and reported expenditure. Building strong relationships with budget holders to support adherence to SFIs and the relevant procurement protocols is also a key element of the role.The successful candidate must either be a part qualified accountant or qualified by experience (preferably in the NHS). You will be a proven finance professional who is ambitious and aspiring for the next step toward a Finance Manager role. You will have high levels of communication, ability to problem solve and build rapport with a range of finance and non-finance stakeholders up to Director Level.There is agreement to move to a new structure during 2021/22 and there will be development opportunities during this period.
