Job Description

Salary: Off Scale (£60k - £70k)Location: Haringey, North LondonContract: Permanent, Full-timeHours: 36 hours per weekAbout the roleOur housing management services are changing as we embark on an ambitious programme focusing on delivering excellent customer services that reflect the changing environment. To support this change we are recruiting a head of income management and leasehold services.Reporting to the Executive Director of Housing Management, you will drive the delivery of our income management function by developing high performing and highly motivated teams to optimise income collection across all tenures and within a rapidly changing and challenging environment. This role also leads our services to leaseholders so you will need to demonstrate an up to date understanding of leaseholders’ needs and a commitment and ability to ensuring our services represent good value for money.About you To be successful in this role you will need to be a strong leader with a track record of successfully implementing new and creative solutions that maximise performance and deliver great outcomes for tenants and leaseholders. You will have already achieved excellent income collection performance in the social housing sector and developed strong partnerships with agencies, councils and partner landlords that have improved the financial health of tenants and leaseholders.In return we are offering an excellent opportunity to grow and develop a key department whilst making a huge impact on the future of the organisation. This role is a key part of our Housing Management Directorate and will see you work collaboratively with a strong and supportive peer group.Key Responsibilities

  • To lead and direct the performance of the income and leasehold services team, responsible for the full range of activities rent accounting, income collection across all tenures, leasehold management, financial inclusion and identifying growth areas of work that enhance the service.
  • To keep up to date on legislation and best practice, supporting the delivery of strategies and new policies in the service. To develop initiatives to improve service performance and the optimum utilisation of financial products/services and digital technologies
  • To take a pro-active role in the delivery of the team’s work plan, goals and values, providing inspirational behaviour, role modelling, optimism and purpose and dealing with any complex, contentious matters where there are potential implications or risks to the organisation’s reputation or service provision.
  • To be accountable for the effective management and utilisation of allocated budgets, to ensure that it is deployed to best effect, provides value for money, and is well monitored and controlled, maintaining sound business and financial planning.
  • To be part of HFH senior/corporate leadership team, taking responsibility to demonstrate our values, chair or carry out HR investigations, representing ELT as appropriate at internal and external meetings and collaborating effectively with other heads of service and senior staff.

  • Ability to achieve improved performance, particularly in relation to achieving excellent services to customers
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines, within budgetary constraints and delivering services with a customer focused approach
  • Adaptability and flexibility in delivering corporate and operational results in a changing environment
  • Understanding the political landscape including trade union negotiations
  • Experience of delivering service improvement
  • Proven track record of implementing and delivering organisation restructure leading and managing staff through periods of change
  • A record of achievement in developing and delivering service objectives and plans based on performance management principals
