Job Description

Salary: PO7 (£49,646 - £52,482)Location: Haringey, North LondonContract: Permanent, Full-timeHours: 36 hours per weekAbout the roleHomes for Haringey have a fantastic opportunity for a Building Safety Manager to lead on delivery of day to day functions of building safety within the safety & compliance department.This is a challenging role with Safety and Compliance, involving the preparation of the organisation for the new and upcoming changes within the building safety sector. You will ensure that all activities are carried out to the highest standards of integrity and professionalism and to the needs of our tenants.Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on delivery of the requirements of a safety future including golden tread of information, safety case reviews, resident engagement and providing assurances at all levels that our buildings are compliant to all legislative requirements.
  • Effectively and proactively lead, manage, and motivate the team to ensure there is a culture of high performance, strong engagement, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Manage the buildings within the portfolio in a manner that ensures a coordinated building safety approach.
  • Oversee and be involved in all stages of construction projects for the high-risk residential buildings.
  • Monitor the delivery of all statutory compliance checks for the buildings in scope, ensuring these are carried out and relevant KPIs are produced.
  • Establish and implement effective working arrangements and practices to ensure a consistent level of service delivery.
  • Collecting and analysing information regarding the properties in scope and other high-risk properties to ensure or assist eliminate any unknown factors.
  • Oversee and advise on improvement and projects that occur within the in scope’ property stock.
  • About youWe are looking for an experienced safety and compliance professional with a combination of academic and practical competence. You will have the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders. You must have extensive experience in working closely with a team of technical specialists and other Building Safety Managers. You will need to demonstrate knowledge and experience of working in a similar post and ideally for an ALMO or council.Key Knowledge
  • Knowledge of risks associated with the housing sector
  • Experience and knowledge of CDM, compliance, fire and structural safety
  • Understanding of BIM protocol and building safety information and how these can be combined in a safety file.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage own workload and used to working in a fast-paced time focussed manner.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to manage both long and short term work streams and priorities.
  • Essential qualificationsOne of the below as a minimum:
  • NEBOSH level 5 qualification
  • Recognised Fire safety qualification •Recognised Buildings safety qualification
  • Membership of the professional body (IFE, FPA, IFSM, etc.) Useful Attributes Building trade or surveyor experience and knowledge
