Job Description

Water is essential to life, so our business is always open.What youll be doingUndertake the development, management and updating of major modelling activities to fulfil business requirements. Provide specialist advice and solutions to strategic network challenges around growth and development.Building, utilising, and maintaining our water network models for use in network planning and in projects to both optimise the use of existing network assets, and to design and commission new capital schemes.To become the subject matter expert for the evaluation of data and information from models to inform the company strategy and provide innovative solutions to strategic challenges.This role will involve:

  • Hydraulic model building - collection and analysis of network and operational data. Assembly into network models.
  • The management of flow and pressure surveys.
  • Calibrating and verifying models.
  • Carrying out studies using the models.
  • Management of the migration of models to InfoWorks and IWLive.
  • Delivering excellent customer service and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder engagement, including operations, strategic control, and asset management.
Were looking for you to
  • We are looking for an experienced hydraulic modeller (5+ years focused on network modelling), preferably chartered or working toward charter-ship in an engineering or environmental based subject.
  • Youll have demonstrable experience in the use of water network models, preferably with previous experience in the use of network modelling software EPANet, InfoWorks, or similar.
  • Youll be competent with Microsoft Office and GIS and have experience in supervising consultants and coaching team members.
  • Youll be a fast learner and have a solid understanding of hydraulic modelling principles including static and dynamic states, pressure management, diurnal demand profiles, and solution development for hydraulic problems.

This will involve undertakingdetailed hydraulic modelling studies using InfoWater or other industry standard software.
