Job Description

CMM Inspector Position OverviewMy client are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced CMM Inspector to work within our state-of-the-art machining facility based at Darlaston, West Midlands.Their Machining Facility in Darlaston is the largest machine shop of its kind in Europe and boasts state of the art equipment following substantial investment over recent years.They are a family run organisation that continues to go from strength to strength due to dominance in the Companys respective markets. Investment in its people is a key policy of the companys culture to ensure that they continue to meet the exacting standardsof our customers.Responsibilities will include:

  • Program a range of CNC Mitutoyo CMMs, working to tight tolerances.
  • Program Axel based Vision Systems.
  • Use manual measuring equipment such as Micrometres, Height Gauges, Protractors, Shadow Graphs, etc.
  • Support our Production Engineers in the development of high accuracy processes.
  • Run current CMM programs for First off, In Process and Last Off inspection.
  • Have experience working with Engineering Drawings, and Geometrical Design and Tolerancing.
  • Support Quality Engineers with the creation of inspection plans.
  • Create first Article Inspection Reports
CMM Inspector Position Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years experience programming CNC CMMs.
  • Experience programming Mitutoyo MSCOSMOS is desirable.
  • Inspection experience gained in the Aerospace Industry is desirable.
  • The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of mechanical engineering, with experience gained within a machine shop or similar environment
  • Minimum education level of National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant subject is desirable.
