Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is appointing a Locum Consultant in Gynaecology and Fertility.The post is offered on a full time basis of 10 programmed activities (PAs), comprising 5 PA in Gynaecology and 5PA in Fertility. 8 PA will consist of direct clinical care – clinics, Fertility treatments and Outpatient Hysteroscopy, and 2PA will be supporting professional activities (SPA), including teaching/research/audit/quality improvement activities and administration. The post will contribute to the weekend rota in the Fertility Unit on a 1:5 basis, but will not have any on-call commitments for Gynaecology.The post holder will have an opportunity to work closely with the Person Responsible (PR) and the senior clinical team in Fertility to modernise the departmental structure.The post holder should be fully trained in all aspects of assisted reproductive techniques and expected to run independent clinics, scanning sessions, egg collection procedures and embryo transfer procedures. The post holder is expected to engage in Clinical Governance meeting, team meeting, management meetings, CLIP / Datix to improve outcomes in fertility department.The post holder will also be expected to be competent in Outpatient Hysteroscopy, including operative Hysteroscopy, to contribute to this service for general gynaecology and fertility patients.The post holder is expected to participate fully in clinical governance, risk management activities of the department and has to work collaboratively with other teams to develop innovative ways to improve the waiting times and patient experience in the fertility department.As a senior employee of the Trust you will work in close co-operation with and support other clinical, medical, professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality, safe health care to patients.
