Job Description

Role: Finance Business PartnerLocation: Blackburn, BB1 2FAHours: Full-Time / PermanentSalary: Negotiable - dependent on experienceWhat will my role look likeIn this role you will be required to add commercial value to the business, improve our commercial reporting and oversee the development of one analyst. The role will also act as a point of contact for Operational and Senior Management Teams as well as workingcross functionally with the Group Shared Services team. The individual will be a self-starter with a proactive approach towards problem solving and achieving desired results.The Ideal Candidate:This role will be ideal for someone that is passionate about influencing the numbers and working with key decision makers. They would have worked in a similar role for a large fast paced organisation or a first time mover out of a well-established practiceas long as they have a can do attitude and a willingness to learn and deliver. They should be a self-starter with a proactive mind-set which will enable them to gain results collaboratively with multiple stakeholders across the business.What would my main responsibilities be

  • Producing frequent reports to various stakeholders across the group along with key points and recommendations to aid decision making
  • Organise and chair weekly/monthly meetings and create robust action plans
  • Follow action plans through to completion and/or hold members to account
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process by providing insight based on trends
  • Assist the finance team in year-end audit process on performance related queries
  • Undertake various project work such as automation, systems (SAP/POS) improvement
  • Oversee and produce monthly Board Pack and Profit & Loss Account
  • Work with Accounts to understand monthly performance and key drivers by site
  • Review site by site performance at a granular level in order to improve performance and undertake benchmarking exercises at margin and opex level
  • Business partner with Regional Managers in order to improve YOY and bottom line performance by giving clear guidance and recommendations
  • Identify process gaps and improve them by working cross functionally
  • Report on brand partnerships along with their ROI which will aid exec board in making future Capex decisions
  • Produce ad hoc reports/analysis for investors via Group Finance team
  • Analyse and critique initiatives such as supplier changes or new product launches
  • Serve as the Go to person and possess a can do attitude whatever the scenario
  • Understand role of other analysts in team and provide cover where required
  • Provide commercial insight to Fuel Pricing and Convenience Retail teams
  • Understand the businesses core KPIs and work with the in-country lead to drive these.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly dashboards to give clear visuals for non-financial managers
  • Work closely with Country manager to optimise performance, control cost and drive profitability

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in an accounting department or in a similar role
  • Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA (Passed Finalists with experience will also be considered)
  • Have the confidence to challenge and show resilience where required
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Financial Modelling would be desirable but not critical
  • Macros/VBA/SQL would be advantageous but not essential
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills as the post holder will be required to
  • communicate at all levels in the organisation
  • Have the aptitude to stand in for the Commercial Finance Manager when required
  • Experience of using SAP would be desirable
  • Must have valid travel documentation (passport) as there will be occasional travel
  • Offers will be made subject to satisfactory references from two most recent employers
  • Internal candidates must have worked for EG Group for at least one year within a commercial or accounting role
