Job Description

Our leading manufacturing client are seeking a Maintenance Engineer on a permanent staff basis to join their growing team. You will provide engineering service to the site teams through the efficient and effective use of contract companies. To ensure contractormaintenance activities across the site are conducted to the correct site, national and international standards. Provide technical assistance to the Engineering Team in both planned and reactive maintenance activities, specifying repairs to assets adheringto internal management of change processes.You will be responsible for managing external contract resources to ensure the contractors deliver a service that provides a safe, reliable plant achieving production and quality targets. Ensuring the strategic management of plant assets and long-term upgradesand replacements as needed.Principle accountabilities:

Provide technical external engineering support to internal maintenance activities for non-core engineering tasks such as pipefitting (steel & non-metallic), welding, fabrication, machining, structural, leak sealing and packaged E&I work.
Ensure assets are maintained so they operate safely and reliably in a cost effective manner.
Coordinate external engineering support for weekly maintenance and planned outages including the establishment of site support facilities and on boarding of contractors.
Act as Authorised Person signatory for the permit to work system.
Provide input into the contractor performance review process.
Work within the Global Purchasing Policy and provide technical support to the Purchasing Department to ensure sufficient stock of critical spares is maintained.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety, health and environmental procedures in area of responsibility.

Competency:Skills- work as part of the team solving complex engineering / process problems. Able to work to timescales with a flexible approach and provide effective communication at all levels.Knowledge- continuous process plant and equipment (rotating and fixed), maintenance strategies such as risk based inspections (RBI), planned, predictive and run to failure. Statutory regulations; PSSR, LOLER, PUWER along with a thoroughunderstanding of ASME & API construction / repair codes. Working knowledge of management of change and SAP processes.Attributes- an Engineer who is accountable for own and contractors performance. A team player with a collaborative One Team approach. Must have a positive can-do attitude who can plan, organise and coordinate, inspire, motivate and encourage.Ethical, credible and consistent, uses initiative with a hands-on approach.Experience- safely lead and supervise a team of contractors responsive to company needs and provide a quality service that meets expectations. Able to achieve business and team goals through KPI management.Qualifications & Experience:

MEng / BEng/ BSc Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
NEBOSH Certificate preferred or equivalent
Ideally industry experience in chemicals, petrochemicals, oil & gas, power generation, steel industry, pharmaceuticals, heavy manufacturing, COMAH or highly regulated sites.
