Highways EngineerGrimsby£35,000 - £43,000BriefHighways Engineer needed for a multinational financial organisation based in Grimsby who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Highways Engineer that takes pride in their work.*There is a permanent role and an 18-month fixed term contract available for this role. *The successful candidate would have:

Qualifications to HND/C level with a preference to degree level or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience.
Experience, knowledge and understanding of DMRB design standards and Local Authority procedures in relation to the design and construction of highway schemes under section 38 and 278 of the Highways Act
Detailed understanding of Health and Safety legislation, working experience of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and understanding of legislative aspects of project delivery.
A proven track record in the Highways and Transportation industry.
Ability to work on own initiative with limited management.
Proficient in the use of industry standard computer software including AutoCAD, Key Signs, Key Lines and Auto Tracks. Knowledge and experience of using 3D highway modelling software.

What the role entails:Some of the main duties of the Highways Engineer will include:

Develop design briefs, prepare feasibility studies, detailed designs, specifications, scheme reports and contract data on a range of projects. Engage in design tasks with a forward-thinking approach, considering principles of conservation, sustainability,and fiscal responsibility.
Lead and participate in design evaluations to uphold design excellence, while also monitoring evolving legislation and engineering standards.
Support the Project Managers in the delivery of major schemes.
