Job Description

Southern Education Recruitment are currently working alongside a Mental Health Service based in Greenwich, who are currently seeking to appoint a Deputy Voluntary Sector Manager. The Greenwich Mental Health service offers specialist assessment, interventions,and support in the Community to help people recover from complex mental health problems and restore the skills and confidence to live successfully in the community.The team works collaboratively with service users, carers and family networks, in actively pursuing their goals and aspirations, whilst minimising the impact of their long-term mental health difficulties and fostering a culture of hope and recovery. Theteam also works closely with other partners and agencies that support their recovery and social inclusion, including supported housing providers, education and employment and advocacy and peer support services.Position: Deputy Voluntary Sector Service ManagerSection: Greenwich Mental Health Hub Location: Royal Borough of Greenwich Contract: Permanent Contract 37.5 per weekSalary: £32,729.55 paClosing Date: The closing date is Friday 1st December 2023Shortlisting will take place on Monday 4th December 2023 Interviews will be held on week commencing Monday 11th December and will be face to face.About the role:As part of the Community Mental Health Transformation work in Greenwich, we are working alongside BLG Mind in partnership with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust to develop services to operate as a front-door to mental health support as well as a step-down supportfor people ready for discharge from secondary care.This work aims to:

  • Deliver support across both Primary and Secondary Care;
  • Ensure there is no wrong door’ into mental health support for those who need it and make it easier to access the right support at the right time;
  • Provide support that focuses on both clinical and social needs;
  • Work well as a multi-disciplinary team.
This is a new role which will support the VSS Manager to drive forward the vision of the project during this key stage in project development. The successful candidate will be required to manage voluntary sector staff working across the mental health advisoryand other work streams as needed and deputise for the VSS Manager as and when appropriate.We are looking for a confident manager with strong partnership working and project development skills. Experience of supporting people with mental health problems will be important in this role as will a good understanding of current mental health provision.You will be a key person in maintaining quality within service delivery and maintaining clear communication and representation with clinical teams and partners.Essential Requirements:
  • Working in health or social care including in community-based services
  • Providing care, support or advice to people with mental health problems
  • Service and project development
  • Knowledge of Mental Health Act
  • Line managing and supervising staff
