Job Description

We have a new role working across our Young Peoples Accommodation Services providing an effective Facilities service and supporting the management of buildings through working collaboratively with our Central Maintenance Team, Day Concierges, the Void & Facilities Lead and Service Managers.SHP (Single Homeless Project) is one of London’s leading homelessness prevention charities and a dynamic and growing organisation changing 8,000 lives every year across London - from supporting people in crisis, to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment.The Young Peoples Accommodation Services in Greenwich is based from two main hubs, providing 110 bed-spaces across 12 separate sites. The dedicated staff team, offer support and housing management within a Psychologically Informed environment to the young people who live within the service.As the Facilities Officer, you will lead on liaising and communicating effectively with internal and external partners; in order to achieve void performance standards. You will also ensure that all maintenance works are carried out within agreed timescales and to the appropriate quality, ensuring best practice and value for money; this will include maintaining compliance with Health and Safety requirements.To succeed, you will have:

  • An understanding of property and arrears management in a high-pressured environment.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to effectively manage people’s expectations or dissatisfaction
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for delivering an effective maintenance service and managing relationships with external contractors
  • An adaptive, creative and innovative approach with the ability to apply these qualities to your working practices.
