Job Description

Technical Development Officer Greater Manchester Permanent role We are working with a global testing company who have one of their locations in Greater Manchester. They work on a range of projects which are related to construction, providing chemical data on the ground using a range of organic and inorganic analyticalchemistry techniques.What you’ll do: The role will suit an experienced Analytical Chemist and see you working in method procedural improvements which will look at current and future contaminants of concern.The role will be working alongside colleagues to extending the scope of validation work, carrying out internal audits of lab procedures and aiding in the commissioning of key equipment and instrumentation.You will be working in an ISO 17025 and MCerts accredited environment. The main techniques used in analysis are HPLC, GC, and ICP. The role will involve maintaining the laboratories position as a leading analytical consultancy via keeping abreast of knowledgeand developments within environmental science.Your background: You will be experienced in method development and troubleshooting and making procedural improvements, with background in:

  • Troubleshooting of existing procedures and improvement recommendations
  • HPLC, GC, and ideally ICP experience
  • Maintenance of ISO1702 and MCerts accreditation (as an advantage)
  • Strong organisation, communication and MS Office skills
  • Self motivation and goal orientation
