Morson Talent are currently working with an organisation in the housing sector who are recruiting a Lawyer to join their In-House Legal Team on a 12-month FTC. The Lawyer will be responsible for the provision of legal advice and support across a range ofareas, including housing/tenancy management, contracts, procurement, disrepair, land disputes and acquisition, advocating at court, preparing cases for legal action. The Legal Team provides formal legal advice across a range of departments within the company,most of which will be within the remit of civil litigation. Responsibilities: Supervision of 4 members of staff and making decisions on the progression of allocated cases. Provide legal advice on all aspects of housing and housing related activity including anti-social behaviour and disrepair. Draw up court papers and contracts advising on all legal documentation, including liaison with the local County Courts. Deal with property disputes, easements, trespass and drafting of licences. Deal with Right to Buys/Acquires. Act on instruction, liaise and negotiate with stakeholders, partners, and others on behalf of the company. Work within the Court system to ensure the outcomes required are achieved. Advocate on behalf of the organisation in contested and non-contested hearings Work evenings attending residents meetings and out of hours visits with clients and be available Saturday mornings to attend Court for breaches of Injunctions. Skills & Experience At least 2 years PQE Detailed knowledge and skills across a diverse range of civil litigation cases within the housing sector. Able to interpret new and existing legislation and provide clear and detailed explanations and advice on specialised and complex matters. Show understanding of a wide range of Housing and Housing related law, and an awareness of the housing context and its challenges. Able to deal tactfully and diplomatically with difficult issues in a variety of formal and informal situations Be able to negotiate with partners and others to achieve the best outcomes for the business, its services and its customers. Able to work to and manage deadlines in an area where priorities are subject to change Demonstrate the capacity to make formal presentations/present in court in a way that effectively represents Bolton at Home and its interests
