Title: Buddy / Support WorkerLocation: Kingston on Thames, KT2Nearest Tube/Station: Raynes ParkWage/Salary: Up to £18.50 Gross Per HourDriver Essential Yes, an automatic wheelchair-adapted vehicle is provided when on duty for driving Anna.Essential: A fun personality is key for this role! Non-smoker/Vaper and confident swimmer. *Female applicants only Desirable: Experience working with young adults with a physical disability and/or learning difficulties Start Date: ASAPDays & Hours: Alternate Fridays (Term time only) 5.00pm to 9.00pm and Alternate Saturdays (term-time and school holidays) 8.30am to 8.30pmFamily/Client Pets: DogRecruiter: Jade -About this client/child: Anna aged 15 is a very sociable teenager who loves to explore life and has a brilliant sense of humour! She loves going to festivals, discos, exploring new cities, going to pop concerts,musicals, and watching videos on Tik-Tok. Anna has cerebral palsy. Sheis very able but requires some support with her mobility and communication. She drives a power wheelchair with close supervision. She can communicate verbally; sometimes this can be unclear so requires patience and encouragement to help her communicate herneeds and wishes. In addition, she requires help with dressing, eating, and personal care. Anna attends a residential school Monday to Friday which she loves.Overview of role: This is a brilliant part-time job for a *Female Buddy / Support Worker on the alternate Friday evenings (term time only) and alternate Saturdays (All year round). After a long week at school Friday evenings are a great time for Anna to chill and have a girlsnight in! On Saturday morning Anna attends a dance group which you will take her to, and the rest of the day is open to organising fun activities and outings. For example, meals out, cinema or finding a show to watch. You will also assist Anna with her personalcare and manual handling, full training will be provided. The role offers £16.50 gross during the week and £18.50 gross per hour during the weekend. If you would like additional hours during school holidays, these can be mutually agreed.Who this job would suit: A confident, bubbly, energetic *Female Buddy / Support Worker with a great sense of fun - Anna really connects with people who make her laugh ! Youll be able to chat and joke with Anna but also be there to reassure her when she needs it. If you have experiencewith young adults with a physical disability and/or learning difficulties, that will be great, but all training provided. As this role is a buddy role, age is a Genuine Occupational Requirement and will suit some younger, possibly a college/university student.Ideally, youll have your own transport as the house is not very close to public transport.Whats great about this job: This is a lovely job for someone who is looking for part-time hours or someone starting out in the support worker field; experience is not essential, and all mandatory training is provided.
