Job Title: Deputy Manager - Childrens HomeLocation: Hackney, North LondonSalary: £28,000 - £32,000Job type: Full Time, Permanent.Bayis Sheli is a professional, warm and friendly childrens home and short breaks residential service for Jewish childrenwhom have complex needs, physical disabilities, and/ or learning disabilities or difficulties, situated in beautiful brand new purpose built premises.The role: To achieve the highest possible standard of care in a professional manner through direct nursingcare and effective supervision of Staff Members. Ensure that all Company policies and procedures and all legal requirements are adhered to within the defined timescalesThe Candidates: NVQ level 3 ChildcarePrevious management/supervisory experience followingOfsted regulationsTeam playerSatisfactory Policy CheckAbility to communicate effectively at all levelsGenuine interest in working with children with complex needsAbility to work on own initiativeMain responsibilities:Care:Ensure that all Staff Members contributeto the best of their ability to the efficient running of the Bayis Sheli and the creation of an atmosphere conducive to the best interests of the Service Users. Duties may include acting up for the Deputy Home Manager and/or Home Manager in their absence.Nursing;interact with Service Users to ensure that their health care needs are being met and resolve any problems where appropriate.Residential: liaise with the District Nurse regarding Service Users health care needsReport any ill health amongst Service Users andmake requests for GP/Professional visits where necessaryEnsure meals are of sufficient and good quality, and that Service Users dietary needs are metEnsure that the Service Users Care Plans are completed and maintained in conjunction with Service Users, Relativesand other Health Care Professions, and in accordance with Company policyAssess all aspects of Service Users care needs, and provide health supervision and direct care when requiredAssess social and health care needs of new Service Users and maintain ongoingassessment and review of all other Service UsersPractice maximum integrity in all dealings with Service Users personal and financial affairs, and avoid abuse of the privileged relationship which exists with Service UsersBudgetary/Financial ControlEnsure thatall commodities used in and around Bayis Sheli are sensibly conserved by all Staff Members e.g. monitor usage of incontinence aids, wipes, dressings, electricity, gloves, etcHuman Resources (HR)Adhere to and implement all HR policies and proceduresIn the absenceof the Home Manager, in conjunction with the Regional Manager, endeavour to fill any Staff vacancy by advertising in the job centre.Interview for new Staff Members with the Home Manager as and when required, in line with the Companys Recruitment policyInthe absence of the Home Manager maintain correct records of working hours of all Staff MembersMarketing Actively market Bayis Sheli and promote a positive personal/professional profile within the local community, ensuring the good reputation of Bayis Sheliat all timesIn the absence of the Home Manager, and in conjunction with the Regional Manager, endeavour to fill any Service User vacancy by liaising with Social Services and health authorities and assessing/selecting suitable Service UsersHealth & Safety Reportimmediately to the Home Manager or Person in Charge any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Service Users, colleague, self or anotherUnderstand, and ensure the implementation of Bayis Shelis Health & Safety policy and Emergency and FireproceduresReport to the Home Manager, Handyperson or Person in Charge any faulty appliances, damaged furniture equipment or any potential hazardGeneral Adhere to all appropriate Ofsted guidelines/regulations and the General Social Care Council Code of ConductEnsurethat all existing stocks are maintained in a safe and tidy environment and reorder as and when requiredBe on call for emergencies which may arise with Bayis Sheli and to cover shifts if all other avenues have been exhaustedBenefits:Onsite parking Finance educationadvancement (NVQ3 to NVQ4 etc.)Please click on the APPLY button to send your CV and Cover Letter for this role.Candidates with the relevant experience or job titles of: Support Worker, Carer, Care Support, Care Team Leader, Support Manager, Care Assistant,Social Worker, Support Team Leader, Care Coordinator, Support Assistant, Care Manager, Support Coordinator, Special Needs Support, Mental Health Support, Care Supervisor, Autism Support, Support Supervisor may also be considered for this role.
