Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a part time HR Manager to provide a full service HR support to this award winning business, covering all aspects of people management from the identification of resource needs, through the recruitment and onboarding process, tocoaching and guiding line managers to get the best from their people.In this stand-alone role you will also undertake your own HR administrative, develop HR policy, procedure and practice and take an active role in our management team, working on projects an initiatives to engage our permanent and temporary staff, such asdeveloping our behaviours in line with our values.HR Strategy and Best PracticeDevelop an HR strategy designed to support the business in becoming an employer of choiceEstablish best practice policy and procedure, achieving consistency of application across our diverse siteTraining, Coaching and MentoringLead on the site training plan, covering mandatory skills based training as well as behavioural and people skillsEmployee Wellbeing, Communication and EngagementWork to embed our Mission, Vision and Values into the employee lifecyclePromote a culture of employee communication, openness, inclusion and feedback by developing effective methods of communication such as briefings and newsletters where employees can contributeto the development of the companyPromote employee wellness and develop initiatives to ensure employees are supported in the work environment including employee recognition activities and eventsPay, Benefits and RewardLead on the pay and reward strategy and identify appropriate reward and recognition methodologyEnsure accurate time and attendance records each month for payrollRecruitment, onboarding and starter processesCoordinate the full recruitment cycle from the development of job descriptions and adverts, to managing the placement of internal and external adverts / engagement with recruitment agencies and to receive, monitor and acknowledge all applications in a timelyfashionSupport the recruiting manager in running an effective and appropriate recruitment processManage the offer process, ensuring contractual paperwork is issued in a timely mannerPerformance Management ProcessesDevelop effective performance management proceduresMaintain and further develop appraisal methodologyMonitor sickness and absence recording. Develop a process for back to work interviews and to support employees to maintain optimum attendance at workMonitorissues of under-performance through both informal and formal procedures, supporting line managers in developing effective performance management skillsHR Administration and ComplianceCreate and maintain all employee HR records in manual and electronic form as required, ensuring full compliance with GDPR legislationCreate and maintain agreed formal terms and conditions and contract of employment documentsPerson Specification / RequirementsUnderstanding of HR policy and procedures and how they are applied;Ability to provide support and advisory service in recruitment activity;Experience of using HR data and metrics to support business decisions;Confident decision maker / problem solverConfidentcommunicator able to work closely with both employees and managers as well as board level directors;Confident as a coach for line managers in best practice people management practices;Excellent administration and organisational skills able to prioritise workbetween projects and routine;Ability to set up and develop HR systems and procedures;An understanding / appreciation of payroll transactions and pension contributions;Experience in using HR and payroll software and time and attendance systems;QualificationsCIPD Level 5 - qualified, working towards, or qualified by experience;A level standard of general education, GCSE Maths and EnglishAnticipated Working Hours / Pattern of Work This role will be based on a 2 or 3 day working week as an average.Please get in touch with Laura at Atkinson Moss for a confidential conversation.
