Job Description

Are you an experienced mechanical fitter, looking to join one of the biggest machine tool businesses in the world Do you want to be paid door to door for all the hours you work Do you need to earn over £55K a year OTEWith a reputation for exceptional quality and reliability, their machine tools are globally recognized. They have a strong network of engineers across the UK, who essentially install and commission a wide range of production lines, automation cells, andstand alone machinery. They have a head office here in the UK for equipment storage, and distribution, as well as a global headquarters outside of the UK where the equipment is built.Responsibilities for the mechanical fitter include -

  • On site mechanical assembly, build and fitting of high spec production assembly lines, automation cells, and stand alone machinery
  • Sub assembly as well as final assembly of the lines
  • Laser alignment, levelling and geometry checks
  • Fitting motors, sensors, motion cameras, basic cable running including power and network cables
  • Functional testing during the commissioning stage, including actuators, sensors, and ensuring the machine is correctly functioning
  • Identifying build issues or corrections during the testing stage
  • Provide customers with end user training and demonstrations
This role requires extensive travel and working away from home on customer sites, so the flexibility to work away from home during the week, and travel back home at the weekend is essentialThe company also invest up to 6 months of training which takes place in Germany where the equipment is built, so the flexibility to make regular trips to Germany is also essential.We would love to hear from suitable candidates with the following skills and experience- Previous experience as a mechanical fitter, machine tool build engineer, machine tool fitter - Mechanically bias, ideally holding an NVQ level 3 in mechanical engineering - Site based installation of equipment, production lines or automated equipment- Good knowledge of fault-finding, diagnostics checking and equipment inspection- Willingness to travel nationally, and be prepared to stay overnight if required- Clean driving license Benefits including an excellent base salary of £38 - £42K basic, plus engineers are paid for all their travel to and from sites or back to the hotel, overtime is paid at Time &after 7.5hrs per day, Double Time on Sunday, overnight stay allowances, hotelsand out of pocket expenses are all paid by the company.
