Job Description

EY78 Multi-skilled EngineerElectrical Bias (4 On 4 Off)Location: GranthamSalary: £37,500 - £40,000 per Annum DOEOverview:First Military Recruitment are currently supporting one of our established and expanding businesses in the search for a Multi-skilled Engineer.The role is to facilitate, machine upgrades, general plant maintenance and new building projects. Maintenance and repair of heavy static and mobile plant. Mechanical bulk handling, sizing, and grading equipment. Fault finding on hydraulic and pneumatic systemsincluding pumps, rams, and control valves. Our client is keen to offer opportunities to Ex-Military personnel, but all applications will be considered. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise for Electrical and Mechanical maintenance of plant equipment whilst carrying out reactive and PPM using electrical, control system and mechanical engineering skill set.
  • Undertakes tasks which require data and strong diagnostics to identify and act upon underlying root cause issues.
  • Mechanical repair and maintenance skills including fault identification and analysis to facilitate repairs, improvements, inspections, adjustments, and refurbishments to agreed standards.
  • With support from Workshops maintenance administration, compile and maintain mechanical maintenance work schedules and records for statutory and best practise inspection, including LOLER, PSSR, etc.
  • Actively support the development of maintenance inspections, repair techniques and engineering standards through the carryout of FMEA, RCFA, bad actor identification, etc. work led by the Workshop Manager.
  • To abide by & promote health & safety, ensuring all approved Company safety policies & processes and other relevant legislation is followed.
  • To carry out PPM maintenance and record all details of inspections.
  • To carry out daily checks in and around the workshop areas daily/weekly/monthly in accordance with company policy.
  • Comply with working method operating procedures.
  • Complete relevant documentation as requested.
  • Working with contractors when servicing equipment.
  • Ensuring work areas are kept clear at all times and that unused or waste material are returned to stores or properly disposed of at all times.
  • Ensure work is completed in a safe and timely manner and where required details of work carried out and faults found are reported to the relevant Supervisor and recorded on maintenance management systems.
  • Ensure that tools required for tasks are kept in good condition and that all defects are reported immediately.
  • Performing other duties as requested by the supervisor and management team.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • City & Guild or NVQ level 3 or equivalent within an Electrical/Mechanical Engineering / Technician discipline.
  • 18th edition wiring regulations.
  • Experience of fault finding and use of programmable logic control (PLCs).
  • Experience of working within a heavy industrial / automated environment.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Mechanical engineering-fault finding and repair.
  • Good attendance and working attitude.
  • Ability to demonstrate awareness of Health & Safety in the workplace (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH).
  • Strong communication skills.
