As clinical leader you will promote teamwork within a multi-professional environment, demonstrating critical analysis and decision making skills, leading the delivery of a clinically excellent, high quality service influencing and facilitating change within ward/department and where appropriate the organisation, ensure visibility for patients and carers/relatives on a daily basis.You will ensure safe and effective clinical practice and enhance the patients experience of care. You will manage and develop the performance of the team and contribute to the delivery of the organisations objectives, as well as ensuring Healthcare Associated Infections and key performance indicators are applied to all ward teams e.g. hand hygiene audits, environmental ward audits. You will promote a clean comfortable, caring and safe environment for staff, patients and visitors by ensuring compliance with legislation, policies and protocols including health and safety, healthcare associated infection, risk management and critical incident reporting and analysis, assessing and managing actual and potential risks to health and well-being.Wards 67 & 68 are part of a regional service that is provided to the West of Scotland. The department provides a 7 day acute Neurology service as well as a 5 day investigatory service to patients with a variety of neurological conditions. An opportunity has arisen to join the team within Neurology at the Institute of Neurological Sciences, Queen Eliizabeth University Hospital. We are looking for a Senior Charge Nurse to join ward 67 and 68 .This 19 bedded ward provides acute neurology care as part of the Neuroscience Service to the West of Scotland. You will work 12-hour shifts to cover the 24/7 service. As part of ward 68, You will be part of the nursing team providing specialist care within the five day neurology treatment and investigation unit.You must be able to demonstrate a commitment to patient-centred care, continuing professional development, an understanding of our service, and the specific needs of our patients (or a commitment to learn and develop these skills).You will demonstrate flexibility, and a willingness to participate in service progression and growth. The ability to work effectively in a team is essential. You be educated to Degree level and have significant clinical experience relevant to post, with substantial post registration experience in the specialist Neurology environment.
