Based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and will support the West of Scotland Major Trauma “Saving life’s, Giving life’s back” development. The post will support the work of the multidisciplinary team working in acute major trauma ward and support transition and implementation of patient care into rehabilitation services. As part of the wider core team of medical, nursing and AHP staff the post holder will provide highly specialist clinical/neuropsychology services to patients admitted to hospital under the major trauma remit. You will provide psychological care for patients from point of entry to acute through to rehabilitation then the communit and will play a key role in advising staff on psychological management of patients. They will work with both patients and their families. The psychologist will contribute to developing the major trauma team approach to psychological care. You should have Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS or HCPC, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology and further post-doctoral training, research and study across a range of areas, including advanced clinical skills.
