THIS IS A FIXED TERM POST FOR 12 MONTHS.Due to maternity leave, we are inviting applications for a Specialist Paediatric Radiographer. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our highly skilled team in the new state-of-the-art imaging facility. You would be based at the Royal Hospital for Children, a 256-bed hospital specialising in paediatric healthcare for children and young people up to the age of their 16th birthday. The hospital is recognised as one of the leading Paediatric training centres in the UK with access to all specialties including cardiac, craniofacial and neurosurgery, in addition to a high neonatal workload. For a number of these services, the childrens hospital is recognised as the sole provider in Scotland.In 2021 the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow will form part of the West of Scotland Trauma Network as a Paediatric Major Trauma Centre providing the full range of imaging services for paediatric major trauma including fast tracked access to CT.The imaging equipment supporting these services include, a high specification Cardiac CT scanner, Bi plane Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory, Interventional Radiology Suite, two 1.5T MRI scanners and SPECT CT Gamma Camera.The Radiology department strives to provide excellent patient focussed care while providing an innovative learning environment which will allow the successful candidate to develop exceptional skills and knowledge in a wide range of specialist paediatric examinations.Full training will be provided for the successful applicants. If successful in your application, you will be required to participate in 7 day working over 365 days. It is essential you have a BSc (Hons) or equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography / Imaging Sciences with current registration with the HCPC. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
