Job Description

  • Provide a high quality administrative service in the Cytology Department, relating to provision to provision of the cervical screening service.
  • Managing all administrative work relating to the service, including updating SCCRS, maintaining databases, managing telephone queries and extracting information and collating reports.
  • Admin duties related to SCTS (Scottish Cytology Training School) and Cervical Skills for Nurses
  • To work as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of the department.
  • Extract and collate data from various information systems/databases when required.
  • Participate in staff annual joint review
  • HNC in Secretarial Studies/Business administration or equivalent demonstrable knowledge.
  • Sound knowledge of administrative systems, preferably within a Laboratory environment
  • High level of competence in office administration, excellent telephone and communication skills, personal organisation and time management skills essential.
  • Advanced keyboard skills
  • Competence in the use of Microsoft Office suite
  • Medical terminology
