This is a fixed term post for 12 months.Based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Physical Disability Rehabilitation Unit. The post will support the work of the multidisciplinary team providing holistic care for patients during their rehabilitation stay in hospital. You will provide highly specialist clinical/neuropsychology services to patients admitted for ongoing rehabilitation.You will play a key role in advising staff on psychological management of patients, and. will work with both patients and their families. The psychologist will contribute to service development within the unit.You will be part of the wider regional neuropsychology service who provide acute and rehabilitation to patients with neurological disorders in NHS GGC and Regional services. The Neuropsychology service has close links with University of Glasgow and are active participants in CPD and research is encouraged.Owning to the prevalence of neuro-trauma and progressive neurology in the patient population served by the PDRU you must have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and be registered with the HCPC. Advanced knowledge of neuropsychological assessment tools and their interpretation would be desirable.Experience of working in a neuropsychology/rehabilitation service, either in qualified experience or as part of the specialist placement in the DClinPsy degree, would be an advantage.
